Where did the fall go?
Hi Everyone!
Who would have thought that we would have had a snow day in November? The kids loved the snow this week. Fifth graders went sledding at lunch on Magic Mountain and had a blast. Please continue to send your child in with all the snow gear including snow pants. When there is snow, they can go sledding on certain days.
Today, fourth and fifth graders were able to enjoy the Tappan Band at a special assembly today. It was great to see such talented students and hear great music!
Writing
Students worked hard this week to write their final draft on paper for the final revising and editing process. Most students are now finished with their final draft but there are a few that still need to finish. This is due on Monday. Please check in with your child to make sure they are done by Monday as we will start the self-check, buddy check and then the parent check next week. The parent check requires using the checklist provided to your child to make sure your child has completed all of the objectives on the list.

Hello! Have you heard about the Burns Park Elementary School online directory? Your BPE PTO directory is the school directory, and so it's the go-to for getting contact info for things like play dates and birthday parties, plus generally just reaching out. I'm reaching out as your BPE PTO Inclusion Liaison, wondering whether you might take a few minutes to sign up if you haven't already?
1. YOU get to choose which information you enter, and also which information other folks can see. You can make changes at any time.
2. ONLY people who are signed up with an account can see the information YOU choose to share.
3. It's EASY. Click here, or follow this link: https://burnsparkpto.membershiptoolkit.com/Open_Forms
4. There's an APP for that. Get the Membership Toolkit App here, or follow this link:< https://apps.apple.com/us/app/membership-toolkit/id912169276 >.
5. ONE and DONE: Once you're in the directory, you're in until you remove yourself or your family leaves BPE. You can update grade/teacher if you'd like, but no need to sign up each year.
Almost 200 families already are in your BPE PTO directory. Some of us won't want to sign up, and I absolutely respect and understand that choice. But if you simply haven't had the time, or keep forgetting, or didn't realize what it was about, it just takes a moment to add your family.
